SRB Series Turning Tools
The SRB tool is distinctly new and revolutionary to the world of wood turning. The SRB is designed to hold either a 1/4" or a 1/2" router bit shaft. The 1/4" router bit shaft tool holds router bits up to 3/4" in diameter. The 1/2" router bit shaft tool holds router bits from 1/4" to 2" in diameter.
Both the 1/4" and 1/2" router bit shaft SRB tools are constructed from a 3/4" stainless steel bar stock, adding strength and weight for stability. The bar stock is also designed to provide the proper angle for precise router bit placement. The fixed angle, flat bottom of the tools lay firmly on the tool rest and resists counter clockwise turns of the lathe and router bit as it touches the wood. For best performance, tilt the router bit down 10 degrees horizontally and then angle the actual tool handle down 5-10 degrees. Optimal inside bowl edge down to the bottom center of the bowl. In the end, the cut is nearly perfect at the bottom curve of the bowl and makes an otherwise difficult cut with ease.
The SRB tool comes standard with an 8-1/2" length and a 1/2" by 2-1/2" tang. However, any SRB tool can be custom made to any length for the deep hollowing turner; we can also make any SRB tool with a 3/4" by 2-1/2" tang to fit in a standard arm brace handle.

You can change router bits with ease with the provided allen wrench. Straight plunge cutting bits can be mounted in any SRB tool and make an excellent 90 degree straight cut on the inside of a bowl or box. We think you, as a wood turner, will be very pleased with the SRB tool performance. The learning curve is quick and easy. The router bits are carbide and so resist dulling for many turns. Carbide inserts can be sharpened with diamond files, laid flat, on the face of the router bit. SEE THE SRB IN ACTION! A video will available soon!
